I just received the pellets and was super excited to be able to mix these with my other pellets I feed, however....these are extremely HARD and they do not soak up water very quickly, so this is throwing my routine way off. I had hoped to feed to my donkeys but I'm afraid of choke and I don't think they will eat sloppy mash. I soaked for my horses overnight and they were pretty mushy but it's really inconvenient for me. I ordered the two bags on auto delivery but for the price, how much I have to feed, per horse, and the hardness of the pellets, I think I will just try the powder again. If I recall, the powder turned to glue like consistency when added with water... so not sure yet, I feel like I NEED to use your product, I just don't know which one yet.
Marilyn, Thank you choosing Redmond Equine and sharing your review on the pellets. We are committed to making you and your animals lives better and healthier and your suggestions are valuable. The pellets do take about 5 hours to totally soften. We are aware and working on an amended formula right now that will lessen that time and increase convenience while still maintaining the absolute highest quality. Thank you for your feedback!
These really help my horse and he loves them!
I wish these pellets were a little more affordable like the powder. You use more pellets then powder and In my opinion the powder worked better. I will still be using the powder
I have been feeding the powder to my mare for 3 plus months. Was mixing it in with soaked Beet pulp and grain twice daily. Kind of a pain, but that was the only way I could get her to consume it. My friend at my barn has been doing similar with her gelding. She just purchased 2 bags of the pellets about a week and a half ago. I bought one from her and have been giving it to my horse. I much prefer it due to the simplicity. I have noticed a HUGE change in my mare since feeding the pellets. Will continue. Just wish it wasn’t so much more $$$ than the powder🤔
Hi Sam, First, we are thrilled that your mare is doing so well! That is exactly why we do what we do and we love when horse owners share. Next, pellets have become so popular and we are currently working on a new formulation to make it significantly more economical. We are very committed to providing you what you need for your horse :)
My gelding loves these pellets! For 2 years he didn’t mind the powder but then suddenly he was snubbing it. I had him try these upon their first launch and just hadn’t reordered as I wanted to finish the powder.
So happy to have him on these again! He just gobbles everything up. The only downside I’d say is the price for the amount fed, but at a cost breakdown that’s $2.36 dollars a day to ensure a happy gut. Maybe in the future it could come down in cost a little. :)
Hi Lora, We are thrilled to hear your horse's gut is happy! Redmond Equine is currently working on a solution for the cost of pellet as well as a way to get them to you at a better price. Watch for updates !
