FAQ about horses and water

Feeding instructions

Stir 2 scoops (2 oz) of Rein Water into a bucket of 4 gallons fresh water. Contents will settle, but your horse will still benefit from the trace minerals absorbed in the water. Some silt may remain in the bucket when water is gone. Just rinse and start over! Always provide your horse with fresh water separate from Rein Water.

Is your horse ignoring water altogether? Try adding Rein Water to its feed to trigger a desire to drink.

REIN WATER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY GALLONS OF WATER WILL ONE PACKET OF REIN WATER TREAT?

Mix a single-use packet, or 2 ounces of Rein Water, with four gallons of fresh water.

SHOULD REIN WATER BE GIVEN IN WATER ONLY, OR CAN IT BE TOP-DRESSED ON FEED OR OFFERED FREE-CHOICE?

If your horse is ignoring water altogether or isn’t showing an interest in Rein Water, you can add it to your horse’s feed to encourage a desire to drink. We don’t recommend feeding it free-choice.

CAN I GIVE MY HORSE REIN WATER IF I'M ALREADY FEEDING DAILY GOLD, REDMOND ROCK CRUSHED, OR DAILY RED?

Yes, it’s safe to feed Rein Water in combination with Daily Gold. However, we don’t recommend feeding Rein Water daily if you’re also feeding Redmond Rock Crushed or Daily Red, our loose salt products. It is okay to offer Rein Water occasionally in addition to a daily loose salt. Providing a free-choice Redmond Rock with Rein Water is perfectly fine.

IS REIN WATER SAFE FOR PREGNANT MARES?

Yes! Rein Water is safe for all horses. The trace minerals in Redmond salt and clay are especially beneficial to mares during pregnancy.

My pony loves this

With weather in the 90s for several weeks straight, I started to add this to a bucket of water in my ponies stall. She would drink the bucket everyday and never touched her regular water..must taste great! I will continue daily since she loves it so much!

Works great for a pasture horse needing to be stalled

My horse is pasture boarded and does not love being stalled. At a show, Rein Water really helped him drink a lot. Since he is a heavy sweater and add in the stress of being stalled in a weird place, it made a big difference for him.

Rein Water

I've only just received it and used it twice. So far, after a ride, she drinks.
So far; so good.

On the Road

I use this product when traveling. I feed with their nightly ration and pour 2 scoops on their grain. They have always cleaned it up and drink lots of water. I highly recommend placing 2 buckets of water in their stall because they drink a lot! I have no concerns of dehydration or getting washed out on the road because of this product. Highly recommend!!
